Stupas are one of the most recognizable forms of Buddhist architecture. At its simplest, a stupa is a mound faced with stone, often containing relics or religious objects and used as a place of meditation. It represents Buddhist teachings. Building a stupa or circumambulating it clockwise is considered extremely beneficial, leaving very positive imprints in the mind.

Every Buddhist stupa needs a so called Tree of Life. This is a wooden pole covered with sacred syllables; it is placed in the central channel of the stupa during the special ceremony. A particular tree needs to be chosen and its trunk should be prepared in a very special way. This Tree of Life from Jeta Garden will be placed in our future stupa. How wonderful!
